Exercises for plantar fasciitis

The video is in Thai, with Thai captions on screen.

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the band of tissue under the foot. It is common, usually worst first thing in the morning when you get out of bed, with a sharp pain in the heel that comes and goes.

Symptoms

Pain around the heel that may spread to the sole of the foot or the Achilles tendon, making walking painful enough to affect daily life.

Common causes

  • Exercise that repeatedly loads the foot, such as running
  • Foot shape, such as flat feet or very high arches
  • Carrying extra body weight
  • Jobs that involve standing for long periods

Move slowly and stay within a pain-free range. Stop and see a doctor if pain gets worse or you feel numbness or pain that spreads.
