Knee joint injection at ReHappy Clinic

Does this sound like you?

  • Knee pain when walking far, on stairs or getting up from a chair
  • Stiff knees in the morning or after sitting for a while
  • A grinding or crackling feeling in the knee when it moves
  • You've been told you have knee osteoarthritis but don't want, or can't have, surgery
  • Pain at the front of the knee or around the kneecap (patellofemoral pain syndrome)

If it does, let our doctor assess you before treatment starts.

What is a knee joint injection?

A knee joint injection (hyaluronic acid injection) is another option for easing pain from knee osteoarthritis. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is injected into the knee joint to support the lubricating properties of the joint fluid and help the knee move more easily.

Benefits of a knee joint injection

  • Less pain and inflammation: the joint moves better, with less friction between the bones
  • Delays surgery: suited to early to moderate knee osteoarthritis, and can delay knee replacement surgery

What is knee osteoarthritis?

Knee osteoarthritis is wear of the cartilage in the knee joint with age, use and other factors. It causes knee pain, stiffness, swelling or difficulty moving, especially on stairs, standing up from a chair or after walking for a long time.

Who it can help

  • People with early-stage knee osteoarthritis
  • People with advanced knee osteoarthritis who can’t have other treatments, for example because of several health conditions or concerns about surgery
  • People with patellofemoral joint disorder or patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS): pain at the front of the knee or around the kneecap

Your actual plan depends on the doctor’s assessment.
